You have loved the recently released US Marine Corps range and we’re happy to tell you the next army to be released in our War in the Far East range are the Chindits. Have a look here at some of the sculpts so far by way of a preview of metal things to come…

Chindits

The Chindits were the largest allied special forces in operation during WWII.  Formed from the British Indian Army as well as the British Army, these men operated deep behind enemy lines in North Burma to bring the battle to the Japanese. The jungles of Burma provided plenty of hardship transforming these fighting men into some of the toughest and grizzled soldiers of their day. The models we have planned reflect the unique nature of this fighting force, as you can see here.

Chindits

The Chindits came about thanks to the ideas and actions of Mr. Wingate, shown in 28mm form above. The idea of a highly specialized long range penetration army that was solely supported by air units was an unorthodox one that would stick in the minds of the public for years to come.

A mule? “Why bother?” we hear you cry! Well, when faced with sweltering mountainous jungles and the need to move a Vickers heavy machine gun or a 3″ mortar at pace all while humping 70lbs or more of equipment yourself – the idea of a mule starts making perfect sense! We’ve sculpted this mule team to reflect the difficult task these men undertook.

While in Burma… Ask a few of the locals to help get you to your destination in one piece! These Burmese scouts are a great addition to a force already brimming with flavor.

Finally we’ve a super grizzled Officer for you to check out. If you’re gonna lead men capable of long range action with little to no  supplies for days in a foreign land, you better be a man of similar constitution. Our officer figure is just that in spades as he spies the trail ahead with this dymanic pose.

The Chindits are coming soon, and there are loads more than we’ve previewed here, so keep an eye out on our weekly email newsletter for all the latest!
